MAD TEA PARTY

BACKSTORY (July 17, 1955—Present): From the Unbirthday Party scene of Disney’s “Alice In Wonderland.” Consists of three small turntables which rotate counter clock-wise, each holding six teacups within one large turntable, rotating clockwise. The attraction is unable to run in the rain; once the turntables are wet, they slip and can no longer spin. Moved from its original location behind King Arthur’s Carrousel to its present location and rededicated May 23, 1983. During the ride’s first two years, the Tea Cups had no brakes or clutches; nothing limited how fast they could be spun. Mad Tea Party and Dumbo are the only attractions to switch locations.
