BACKSTORY (May 1, 1989–PRESENT): Originally called Disney-MGM Studios, this was the third theme park to open at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. The icons for this area of WDW are a recreation of the famous Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood and the water tower from the Disney Studios in Burbank. The13-story Orlando version of the tower was dubbed "The Earffel Tower." In 2008, the park was renamed Disney's Hollywood Studios.
