BACKSTORY (December 5, 2012): Club 33 celebrated what would have been Walt Disney's 111 birthday with a special dinner held in his honor, put together by Dale & Grace Mattson. Guests were encouraged to pick an era and dress like Walt and Lillian Disney. The results were spectacular! The event started at Disney California Adventure with a photo opp in front of the Walt & Mickey statue. Thanks t olegendary Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr ("if it moves, Bob Gurr designed it!"), the group was able to enjoy some time in the 1901 Lounge of Carthay Circle before heading to Club 33 for dinner. The gorgeous birthday tribute centerpieces were contributed by talented designer and former cast member Del Langdale. Highlights included the generous gifting of a Candlelight tribute photo book by Armand D'Alo and his wife Robbin. A delicious buffet dinner was served complete with carving station, made-to-order pasta, and plenty of tasty side dishes. The evening was capped off with a fun prize raffle and a red velvet birthday cake in Walt's honor made at the Disneyland bakery.
